Oversee the day-to-day IT environment required to support Cardinal’s business requirements

Salary range: $75,000-85,000

• Management and support of LAN, WAN, WLAN and VPN infrastructure

• Configure and support switches and wireless access points

• Troubleshoot network performance, latency and connectivity issues

• Support for plant IT and communication infrastructure (e.g. scanners, scales, label printers, surveillance cameras, Access control system, time and attendance)

• Support and administration of system applications, Microsoft business environment, company ERP system, and other duties as assigned

• Continuous improvement, documentation and maintenance of detailed infrastructure documentation and diagrams

• IT Support for production measurement, product costing and inventory control

• Security of data, network access and backup systems

• Liaise with IT business partners (F12, CSB, Bell Canada)

• Review and approve supplier invoices in accordance with contractual terms and agreements

• Planning and implementation of upgrades to IT infrastructure

• Development and Monitoring system performance standards

• Apply security best practices including MFA, least privilege and role-based access

• Grant and revoke approved system permissions

• Provide Tier 2 user and endpoint support and escalation

• Train backup support for coverages during incumbent’s planned and unplanned absences

• Coverage for planned and unplanned absences which could compromise our policies, procedures and programs

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience

• Hold recognized industry-standard IT certifications (CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP, ITIL or similar)

• 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and systems administration

• Demonstrated Project Management skills

• Knowledge of IT Infrastructure (Networks, Servers, PC, Mobility)

• Experience with Cloud hosted technology (Citrix, RDS, Azure)

• Familiarity with an ERP software system is an asset.

• Able to work independently and work under time pressures and concurrent tasks

• Strong verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms to all levels within the organization

• Comfortably interfacing with internal and external resources

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
