Position Title: General Accountant
Location: Brampton, Ontario
Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this position is responsible for assisting the Financial Controller in implementing financial controls, preparing financial reports and reconciliation of accounts, and coordinating the year-end financial audit.

Specific Accountabilities:·     

  • Live Core Values
  • Period end General Ledger transactions
  • Period-end check list for journals, GL reconciliations and accruals
  • Supervise Accounts Payable Function
  • Data Integrity Process
  • Coordination of year-end audit
  • Accuracy and completeness of price changes
  • Coverage for other accounting functions
  • Analytical tasks when assigned
  • Reporting on Government Incentive Programs
  • Seek continuous improvement
  • Acts within Company philosophy
  • The duties and responsibilities outlined above are representative but not all inclusive

Ideal Qualifications

  • 4th level in an Accounting Designation
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and computerized accounting software.
  • ERP software experience preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in diversified business accounting.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

Position Details

Position Title: Director - R&D
Location: Brampton, Ontario
Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing commercialization expertise, concept development and managerial leadership to the R&D team.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Lead R&D product development team
  • Projects from concept to commercialization
  • Manage R&D team to assure effective product development and implementation planning, resourcing, and prioritization.
  • Balance multiple project initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong multitask and demonstrated change management skills
  • Provide technical and culinary leadership in customer facing meetings and/or presentations
  • Identify and communicate potential product constraints or risks and problem solve for solutions.
  • Lead sound technical guidance, proposals and recommendation
  • Demonstrate innovative mindset, command of innovation process, thought leadership, business strategy & creative problem solving.
  • Lead awareness of industry developments and pursue ingredient, packaging, product or technology advances for application to new and innovative product initiatives
  • Partner with the Operations, QA, Segment Leads and Supply Chain partners to develop Standard Operating Procedures, for all products
  • Lead specific development and implementation plans and resources needed to deliver on new solutions or opportunities
  • Continuous process improvements
  • Trains backup support for coverages during incumbent’s planned and unplanned absences and be able to provide backup support for coverages during planned and unplanned absences of the team

Ideal Skills/Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills
  • BS in Food Science or related field
  • Culinary expertise
  • Product Commercialization and Project Management experience
  • 5+ years in the Food industry related experience leading innovation and product development process (Retail, Food Service, Industrial)
  • Regulatory Affairs experience preferred
  • Highly proficient technical R&D expertise
  • Excellent communication skills- Verbal & Written
  • Strong understanding of scale up/manufacturing challenges
